Efektivitas Pemberdayaan Kelompok Sadar Wisata Pesona Bukit Lawang di Desa Perkebunan Bukit Lawang Kecamatan Bahorok

Abstract

This study aims to determine and explain the effectiveness of empowering the Pesona Bukit Lawang Tourism Awareness Group in Bukit Lawang Plantation Village and to describe and explain in depth information about empowering tourism awareness groups. This research was conducted to see the independence of community organizations in village tourism development by collaborating. This empowerment is expected to increase tourist visits which in turn can increase the income of the village community. However, the implementation of tourism awareness group empowerment activities is still relatively slow due to obstacles in the implementation of activities. The research method used in this study is a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, observation, documentation and literature study. The research informants consisted of the Head of the Tourism and Culture Office of the Langkat Regency Tourism and Culture Office, the Head of the Bukit Lawang Plantation Village, the Head of the Pesona Bukit Lawang Tourism Awareness Group, Members of the Pesona Bukit Lawang Tourism Awareness Group and the Bukit Lawang Plantation Community. The results of the study indicate that there are two problems in implementing the empowerment of the Pesona Bukit Lawang Tourism Awareness Group, namely: First, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Second, the Budget Fund. But besides that, the Pesona Bukit Lawang Tourism Awareness Group stands independently by collaborating with the North Sumatra Provincial Government, Langkat Regency Government, Bukit Lawang Plantation Village Government and NGO (Non Governmental Organizations) in Bukit Lawang. This certainly requires coordination and communication, especially the Regional Government, in this case the Tourism and Culture Office of Langkat Regency and the Pesona Bukit Lawang Tourism Awareness Group in Bukit Lawang Plantation Village, so that village tourism development can be achieved.
