Peran Yayasan Pondok Pesantren Modern Baharuddin dalam Membentuk Kedisiplinan Santri
Abstract
The Baharuddin Modern Islamic Boarding School Foundation is one of the Islamic
educational institutions. Educators and discipline are two things that astudent has, in order
to be said to be educated. Discipline can be an asset for studentsqualitatively. One of the
problems among students is the lack of discipline, for example disobeying rules, skipping
lessons, brawls between students, and so on. Therole of educational institutions is needed
to shape the morals of students who are more disciplined. The Baharuddin Modern Islamic
Boarding School Foundation is an Islamic educational institution. This study aims to
determine the role of boarding schools in shaping the discipline of students.
The method used in this research is ethnography, where ethnography is very identical
and relevant to describe culture comprehensively. The research method used is
ethnography which describes the research results in depth. So, researchers in collecting
data conducted participant observation, in-depth interviews and documentation.
Descriptive qualitative research is to describe and analyze phenomena, social activity
events, attitudes, beliefs, perceptions, thoughts of people individuallyor in groups.
The results of this study show that the Baharuddin Modern Islamic Boarding School
Foundation tries to improve the discipline of students with the boarding school system. In
addition, santri discipline arises from self-awareness / inherent and other discipline is
created through external efforts, namely guidance (mentoring) by Ustadz / Ustazah,
extracurricular activities, the establishment of mandatory rules that must be obeyed and
sanctions. Thus, these efforts are still not optimal, Santri is still undisciplined. Therefore, it
is hoped that it can foster and foster good character for students more personally, through
good/creative strategies and activities, discipline, and be responsible for their actions.
