Peran Dinas Sosial dalam Pelayanan Disabilitas di Kabupaten Labuhan Batu

Abstract

Every citizen has the same right to get all his rights because of his position as a citizen, and these rights must be given without discrimination. Persons with disabilities have the same position, rights, and obligations as non-disabled people. Being a citizen of Indonesia, it is appropriate for a person with disabilities to get their rights, which should be granted by the state. However, in reality, not all disabled people get these rights. This study aims to find out the role of social services in providing services to people with disabilities. The data collection techniques used were observation and interviews. Based on the research that has been done, the results of this study indicate that disability services at the Labuhanbatu District Social Service play a role in providing services to people with disabilities in Labuhanbatu. The plan that is being carried out is in the form of entrepreneurship coaching, the provision of basic necessities, and wheelchairs. The obstacles to its implementation are the large area, the lack of field staff, and the budget.
