| dc.description.abstract | The title of this research paper is "Challenges of Female Journalists in the Digital
Age in Balancing Roles Between Career and Family at the North Sumatra's Forum
Jurnalis Perempuan Indonesia (FJPI)." This study seeks to determine how female
journalists in the digital age face challenges in balancing work and family
responsibilities, as well as the solutions they employ. Among the theories and
concepts studied are communication, family communication, dual roles, gender and
media, women journalist, feminism, and the digital era. In this study, qualitative
and descriptive research methods are employed. For data collection, in-depth
interviews and observation were utilized. As informants, four people participated
in the study. The four informants already possess the necessary qualifications: they
are married women journalists with children who are members of the North
Sumatra's Forum Jurnalis Perempuan Indonesia (FJPI). In this study, the
challenge faced by female journalists in balancing roles between job and family in
the digital era is the requirement for rapidity in the media where journalists
operate. Furthermore, working on reporting on hoax news and validating the news,
which requires more time, is said to be one of the challenges that female journalists
face due to the limited amount of time that female journalists can devote to their
families when reporting is done on holidays. Female journalists in the
contemporary digital era balance duties between career and family through family
contact between husband and wife, as well as parents and children. Apart from that,
female journalists constantly prioritize what needs to be done. | en_US |
