Analisis Hiperrealitas Simulakra Jean Baudrillard pada Influencer di Instagram
Abstract
This research entitled “Analysis of Jean Baudrillard’s Simulacra Hyperreality of
Influencer on Instagram.”. The purpose of this research is to find out how Jean
Baudrillard’s hypereallity theory applies to Instagram as a simulacra and to
analyze influencer’s interpretation of certain activities that the users can do in
simulated life on Instagram based on the concept of Jean Baudrillard’s
hyperreality. The theories used in this research are Jean Baudrillard’s
Hyperreality and the Signs theory of Ferdinand de Saussure which is then used by
Jean Baudrillard. The methods used in this research is qualitative research
method. The data in this research were collected through in-depth interviews.
There were seven informants in this research, consisting of two key informants
and five main informants who were choosen using purposive sampling technique.
The results of this research show that Jean Baudrillard’s theory of hyperreality
which was originally intended for mass media also applies to new media, namely
Instagram. Hyperreality applies to Instagram because of the many meaningless
signs that Instagram reproduces as activities that can be carried out in the
application. Influencers have various interpretations for certain activities on
Instagram, these activities can affect influencer emotionally depending on how
they interpret them.
