Staphylococcus aureus is a gram-positive bacterium that belongs to the normal flora in the human oral cavity which can cause odontogenic infections. Lemongrass leaves belong to the grass group of the order Graminales which have active compounds that can be used for antibacterials. This is caused by one of the main ingredients of Lemongrass leaves is essential oil. Essential oil from Lemongrass Wangi has the ability to control the growth of bacteria and fungi and has antioxidant activity. The formulation of the problem in this Literature Study is whether there is antibacterial effectiveness of citronella leaf extract (Cymbopogon nardus) and citronella oil against Staphylococcus aureus based on a systematic literature review. Based on the results of previous studies, citronella leaf extract (Cymbopogon nardus) and citronella oil both have antibacterial effectiveness against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. So it can be concluded that citronella leaf extract (Cymbopogon nardus) has a greater inhibitory power than citronella oil against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.en_US
