    Pelepasan Ion Kromium Kawat Ortodonti Nickel-Titanium (NiTi) setelah Perendaman Larutan Ekstrak Daun Pandan Wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb)

    Abstract
    Nickel-titanium (NiTi) wire has high flexibility, spring back, and shape-memory effect. The chromium ion release has a negative effect, such as allergies and cause damage to DNA. Corrosion can be inhibited by using inhibitors. The study aims was to determine the amount of chromium ion released on orthodontic nickel-titanium wire in artificial saliva solution, chlorhexidine, and extract pandan leaf (Pandanus amarillyfolius Roxb) with 1000, 2000, and 4000 ppm concentrations after immersion on the 7th and 14th days with wire samples nickel-titanium 0.016 inches and 5 cm long during the 7th and 14th days of immersion in an incubator at 37⁰ C. The immersion solution was tested using Inductive Coupuled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) to see the release of chromium ions. On the 7th day, the highest mean of chromium ion release was found in the chlorhexidine immersion group, which was 0,075 ± 0,001358, and the lowest chromium ion release was found in the extract pandan leaf immersion group with a concentration of 4000 ppm, which was 0,006 ± 0,000028. On the 14th day, the mean results for the highest amount of chromium ion release were found in the Chlorhexidine solution immersion group, which was 0,087 ± 0,001230, and the lowest amount of chromium ion released was in the extract pandan leaf solution immersion group with 4000 ppm concentrations, which was 0,003 ± 0,000307. It was concluded that there was a significant difference in the release of chromium ions on orthodontic nickel-titanium wire after being soaked in extract pandan leaf (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) on the 7th and 14th days.
