dc.description.abstractThis thesis describes about contemporary Japanese political culture and behind it with the teachings of Confucianism. This research is motivated by the fact that Confucianism has an influence on contemporary Japanese politics. The teachings of Confucianism have been systematically compiled since the reign of the Tokugawa or the Edo period. Departing from the history of how Confucianism contributed to culture in Japan, it is interesting to know how Confucianism's teachings influenced contemporary Japan. This study used a qualitative research method in a descriptive qualitative way. All data in this thesis were collected through the literature study method. Based on the research results, Confucianism influences contemporary Japanese politics, including through the code of ethics of the samurai or Bushido. Bushido's values and morals were not only applied by samurai, but slowly became a national code of ethics. The teachings that have become national moral values have slowly transformed Japan into a country with a fairly stable politics.en_US
