dc.description.abstract | Senior high school students are individuals enrolled in the formal education
system for teenagers who have completed their junior high school education. They
face several challenges, including academic issues and developmental challenges.
Adolescents who are unable to cope with these challenges are at risk of
experiencing future anxiety. Future anxiety is a state of fear, uncertainty,
apprehension, and worry about unfavorable changes in the future. One method
that can reduce anxiety is mindfulness meditation. Mindfulness meditation is a
breathing exercise aimed at observing the relationship between thoughts,
emotions, and activities without judgment, allowing individuals to fully
understand the meaning and causes of their experiences and behaviors. Therefore,
the researcher conducted an experimental study to examine the influence of a
mindfulness meditation module on reducing future anxiety among senior high
school students. The participants in this study were 10 eleventh-grade high school
students. The intervention consisted of delivering lectures and engaging in
meditation practices for 45 minutes per session over 4 sessions. Data analysis was
performed using the Mann-Whitney test and the Wilcoxon test. The results of this
study indicated that there was no significant influence of the mindfulness
meditation on future anxiety among high school students, with a p-value of 0.675. | en_US |
