Psychological Capital dan Prokrastinasi (Studi Korelasional pada Mahasiswa Perguruan Tinggi di Indonesia yang sedang menyusun Skripsi)

Abstract

Students often feel stressed due to their academic activities. Likewise, final-year students who must complete their thesis soon. There are lots of problems that can become stressors, such as difficulty in choosing a title, difficulty in writing a thesis, and difficulty in aligning views with the supervisor. Many obstacles experienced by students are what make students tend to procrastinate to reduce their burden. This delay can have a negative effect where students will need more time to complete their thesis. Therefore, students need psychological capital in order to maintain a positive personality while working on their thesis. This study aims to look at the correlation between psychological capital and procrastination in students who are taking their thesis. This research used quantitative research methods with non-probability sampling techniques with accidental sampling methods with a total of 386 subjects who are final-year students from all universities in Indonesia. The data collection method used a likert scale consisting of a psychological capital questionnaire scale and a procrastination scale. The results showed that the correlation between psychological capital and procrastination is weak with a coefficient value of -0.270. The negative sign means that the higher the psychological capital of students, the lower the level of procrastination they have.
