Pengaruh Penggunaan Aplikasi Tiktok terhadap Keterbukaan Diri Mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Sumatera Utara

Abstract

This research is entitled "The Effect of TikTok Application on Self Openness of FISIP USU Students". The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence the use of the TikTok application has on the self-disclosure of FISIP USU students. The theories that support this research are communication, new media communication, AIDDA. This research uses a quantitative approach. The population in this study were 1772 students of FISIP USU Medan, North Sumatra. The sample was determined by the Slovin formula and obtained a sample of 95 people. The sampling technique used in this study was Proportionate Stratified Random sampling. Data collection techniques in this research are field research and literature study. The method used in this research is correlation which aims to find the relationship between one variable and another. The data analysis technique used in this research is single table analysis, cross table, and hypothesis testing using SPSS version 23.0 software. The results of the correlation coefficient test (rs) obtained a value of 0.628, which means that there is a significant relationship between the influence of the TikTok application on self-disclosure. This means that the TikTok application affects Self Openness, especially USU FISIP students.
