dc.description.abstractIndonesia is a country with a pluralistic population in terms of ethnicity, social, religion, culture and customs. In this country live the various major religions in the world, namely Islam, Christianity, Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Confucianism. Apart from that, there are no less numerous local streams and beliefs that grow and develop. Indonesia is a country that has a plurality of religions, but that is not an exception to live in peace. With solutions to overcome intolerance cases that occur in Indonesia, the concept of civil society (Civil Society) is the main concept in carrying out tolerant peace in terms of the diversity of tribes, ethnicities and religions and the proven values of civil society in the village of Majlis Ta'lim Fardhu (MATFA) . The values of civil society have become an urgency in seeing the future expectations of society that upholds brotherhood and togetherness based on the concept of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. The aim of the research is to find out the formation of the Majlis Ta'lim Fardhu (MATFA) village, and to see how the people of the Majlis Ta'lim Fardhu (MATFA) village manage natural resources in the development of an independent economy and explore the values of civil society implemented in building an independent economy. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data were collected by three methods, namely, in depth interviews, participant observation and documentation. There are several civil society values in Matfa village, namely democracy, tolerance, pluralism and social justice. Based on the research results, the values of civil society in building an independent economy in MATFA village cannot be separated from the culture present in MATFA village, namely togetherness. The principle of togetherness is used in managing the wheel of life in MATFA village, from strengthening an independent economy so as to strengthen civic life in the MATFA village communityen_US
