dc.description.abstractThe pre-designed factory for the production of bio-char from empty palm oil bunches using a slow pyrolysis process has a production capacity of 80,000 tons/year on a calculation basis of 1 hour of operation, 330 working days for 1 year. There are three processes in the manufacture of bio-char namely pyrolysis, hydrothermal carbonization and gasification. This bio-char manufacturing plant uses slow pyrolysis because it produces a high yield. The specific task that was completed was the detailed engineering design of the fluidized bed reactor. The designed reactor has the following specifications: • Material of Construction : Stainless Steel SA-240, Grade A • Type : Fluidized Bed • Tank volume : 4,838 m3 • Tank diameter : 1,665 m • Tank height : 1,665 m • Plate thickness : 0,308 in • Plate jacket : 0,243 in The bio-char manufacturing plant from empty palm oil bunches is planned to be established in Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province, with the required land area of 16,440 m2, the form of a Limited Liability Company (PT) business entity led by a main director with a line system organizational structure and staff with The number of workers is 212 people. The results of the economic analysis of the bio-char manufacturing plant from empty palm oil bunches with this slow pyrolysis process are as follows: 1. Investment Capital : Rp 539.858.074.746,- 2. Production Cost : Rp 778.019.060.955,- 3. Net Profit : Rp 370.087.557.032,- 4. Profit Margin (PM) : 40,137% 5. Break Even Point (BEP) : 24,698% 6. Return on Investment (ROI) : 68,533% 7. Pay Out Time (POT) : 1,458 tahun 8. Return on Network (RON) : 84,273% 9. Internal Rate of Return (IRR) : 78,767% From the results of the analysis, it was found that a factory for making biochar from empty palm oil bunches with a slow pyrolysis process is feasible to build.en_US
