Calcium chloride is an inorganic compound that has the chemical formula
CaCl2. Calcium chloride has many uses, including: as a drying agent, as an ice
melting agent, as a source of calcium ions, as an additive in the food industry, and
in the field of medicine. In the pre-design of this factory using eggshells as the
main raw material where eggshells contain 94% calcium carbonate which can be
used into calcium chloride. The process used is the process of mixing eggshells
and hydrochloric acid (HCl).
The pre-designed calcium chloride plant is planned to produce with a
capacity of 16,000 tons / year and operate for 330 days a year. The factory
location is planned in Jugo, Kesamben District, Blitar Regency, East Java
Province with the required land area of 13,420 m2. The manpower required to
operate the plant is 221 people. The planned form of business entity is a Limited
Liability Company (PT) with the organizational form being line and staff.
The results of the analysis of the economic aspects of this factory are as
follows:
- Total investment capital = Rp415.147.188.783
- Total cost of production = Rp389.327.008.634
- Sales results = Rp528.000.000.000
- Net profit = Rp96.155.383.017
- Profit margin = 18,211%
- Break event point = 30,458%
- Return on investment = 23,162%
- Pay out time = 4 tahun 5 bulan
- Return on network = 38,603%
- Internal rate of return = 29,271%
Based on the results of the economic analysis, it can be concluded that this
"Calcium Chloride Manufacturing Plant from Egg Shells and HCl" is feasible to
establish.
