Law Number 10 of 2009 concerning Tourism, explains that tourism development needs to be encouraged to get equity, as well as business opportunities to increase labor absorption for the local community. The main objective of tourism development is to increase economic income; public welfare; reduce the unemployment rate; overcoming poverty; preserving culture, environment and natural resources. The development of natural tourism objects will provide benefits for advancing the growth of people's welfare by increasing tourism potential by upholding the local wisdom of the community. This is in accordance with the priority of tourism development on Lake Toba which is in Samosir Regency to realize Samosir as a tourist object of the Toba Caldera which is recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a world heritage site as well as an international tourist destination. To maintain this, it is deemed necessary to carry out a study, especially in the development of supporting tourism based on local wisdom. The purpose of this study is to analyze the condition and distribution of historical tourism objects of the Batak tribe based on local wisdom which have the potential to be developed as leading tourist attractions in North Sumatra. Including description, access, infrastructure, environment, socio-culture and local wisdom of the local community and to support tourism marketing. In addition, this study also analyzes the constraints of both natural factors and human unconsciousness on the values of tourist objects. The analytical method used is descriptive qualitative by explaining and interpreting all data and informationobtained in the field according to the problems and research objectives. The results of the study show that historical tourism based on local wisdom that can be developed in Sianjur Mulamula District includes 7 flavors of springs, stones left by previous kings, as well as tools used by the former Batak tribe to help with household activities. The main problems in increasing Batak Historical Tourism Based on Local Wisdom in Sianjur include the fading of local wisdom values of the local community due to eroding of modernization, management problems, inadequate human resources (HR), as well as public awareness to jointly preserve local culture.en_US
