Transparent soap is one type of soap that has a dense and transparent texture. In this design task, the main focus was to design a factory to produce transparent solid soap using the main raw materials in the form of RBDPS (Refined Bleached
Deodorized Palm Stearin) and NaOH (Sodium Hydroxide), as well as with the
addition of citronella oil to give it a refreshing aroma. The production process of
transparent solid soap begins with a chemical reaction between RBDPS and NaOH in the reactor. The mixture then goes through a series of stages, including mixing and solidification, to form a high-quality, transparent solid soap. The addition of
citronella oil at a certain stage gives the soap a distinctive aroma.
The pre-designed transparent solid soap making plant from RBDPS and NaOH is planned to have a production capacity of 15,000.00 tons/year and operate for 330 days a year. The factory location is planned in Pinang Sebatang area, Tualang District, Siak Regency, Riau Province, Indonesia. The land area required for the establishment of the factory is 10,167 m2, the required labor is 119 people.
The planned form of business entity is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line organizational structure form.
The results of the analysis of economic aspects obtained are as follows:
• Total Investment Capital : Rp. 434.550.378.810,40
• Total Production Cost : Rp. 623.078.082.250,26
• Sales Results : Rp. 825.000.000.000,00
• Net Profit : Rp. 124.766.784.210,46
• Profit Margin (PM) : 15,12 %
• Break Even Point (BEP) : 28,55 %
• Return on Investment (ROI) : 28,71 %
• Pay Out Time (POT) : 3,48 tahun
• Return on Network (RON) : 47,85%
• Internal Rate of Return (IRR) : 38,21%
From the analysis of economic aspects, it can be concluded that the predesign of a transparent soap-making plant from RBDPS and NaOH with a saponification process is feasible to be established.
