dc.description.abstractGreen diesel is diesel oil derived from the hydrogenation of vegetable oil which has advantages over fossil-based biodiesel and FAME-based biodiesel. The advantages of green diesel include being able to reach a cetane number of 55-90 which is much higher than biodiesel, has a lower sulfur content, good oxygen stability, and has a clearer color. Green diesel can be produced from palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD) which is rich in fatty acids and is a non-food vegetable oil which is suitable as a long-term raw material. Green diesel is produced through catalytic hydroprocessing and hydrodeoxygenation reactions according to PFAD raw materials. The design of the green diesel manufacturing plant is planned to produce with a capacity of 100.000 tonnes/year for 330 days a year. The factory is planned to be located in the Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra with an area of 20.830 m2. The business entity form for this green diesel factory is a Limited Liability Company with line and staff organizational forms and is planned to have a workforce of 150 people. The planned hydrodeoxygenation reactor has the following dimensions: • Catalyst : Palladium on gamma Alumina (Pd/ γ-Al2O3) • Mass of Catalyst : 631,307 kg • Type of Reactor : Fixed Bed Multitube Reactor • Material of Construction : Carbon steel SA-299 • Number of tubes : 39 tube • Tube thickness : 1 1/4 in • Shell diameter : 60 in • Shell thickness : 3/4 in • Reactor height : 10,940 m The results of the economic analysis of the Green Diesel Manufacture Plant from PFAD are as follows: • Total Investment Capital : Rp 3.231.081.337.588,53 • Total Production Cost : Rp 1.086.487.515.642,47 Sales Proceeds : Rp 2.095.934.457.983,03 • Net Profit : Rp 671.528.691.103,97 • Profit Margin (PM) : 45,767 % • Break Even Point (BEP) : 23,246 % • Return on Investment (ROI) : 20,794 % • Pay Out Time (POT) : 4 tahun 11 bulan • Return on Network (RON) : 34,657 % • Internal Rate of Return (IRR) : 26,913 % From the results of the analysis of the economic aspects, it can be concluded that the Green Diesel Manufacturing Plant from Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD) is feasible to establish.en_US
