Perilaku Politik Etnis Tionghoa Muslim di Kota Medan dalam Pemilihan Umum Tahun 2019

Abstract

As one of the ethnic minorities in Indonesia, the Chinese ethnic also has a plurality within which consists of various religions, both Buddhism, Christianity and even Islam. In the context of Chinese Islam, there is one interesting thing, namely how the actual life of ethnic Chinese Muslims in Indonesia is because there are several aspects of life that basically clash between ethnic Chinese and Islam. Even in terms of politics itself, there may be differences between ethnic Chinese Muslims and ethnic Chinese in general, especially in the 2019 election, which as we all know, there has been considerable polarization between the two poles of different groups. This study uses a qualitative research method with the process of taking informants with the Snowball method. And the process of taking information using interview techniques and also observation From the results of the study it can be seen that the Muslim Chinese ethnicity has a life that is quite different from the non-Muslim Chinese ethnicity, but has a political attitude that really looks at the ethnic side and also the character side.
