Government officials have an important role in a country to run the
wheels of government in order to create a prosperous and prosperous nation's
life. Disciplined and productive government officials are expected to be able to
bring about a change and renewal in the midst of society. Therefore, employee
discipline is needed in order to encourage work productivity. Employee Discipline
is an important thing for the organization because it can affect Work Productivity.
However, several problems were still found in the Employee Discipline such as
non-compliance with the provisions on entry to work and working hours which
ultimately determine the results of Work Productivity. This study aims to
determine and analyze the influence of employee discipline on work productivity
at the Department of Population and Civil Registry of Medan City.
The research method used is associative with quantitative data analysis.
Data collection techniques were carried out by distributing questionnaires and
documentation. This research has two variables to be tested, namely Variabel X
Employee Discipline (Singodimedjo (in Sutrisno, 2020)) which has four
indicators. Variabel Y Work Productivity (Sutrisno, 2020) has six indicators. The
data obtained was then analyzed using Smart PLS (Partial Least Square) version
3.3.2 software. The sample of this research was 100 respondents from the
Department of Population and Civil Registry of Medan City.
From the results of the study it was shown that the Employee Discipline
variable had an effect on the Work Productivity variable of 0.883. These results
are also consistent with the proof of hypothesis testing where the t-statistic value
is 47.581 and the t-table value is 1.66, so the t-statistic > t-table (47.581> 1.66)
and a significance of 0.000 so it can be concluded that the Employee Discipline
variable has an effect positive and significant (0.000 <0.05) on the variable Work
Productivity at the Department of Population and Civil Registry of Medan City.
On the other hand, the value of the coefficient of determination also obtained
which shows that the influence of Employee Discipline on Work Productivity at
the Department of Population and Civil Registry of Medan City is 78% while 22%
is the influence of other variables outside this study.
