dc.description.abstract | Human resources are one of important elements in realizing vision, mission, and goal of an
organization. Therefore, they have to be managed properly such as by optimizing employee
satisfaction. An employee who shows his high job satisfaction will have positive att(tude toward
his job; and vice versa; There are many factors which can influence an employee 's level
ofsatisfactionin an organization such as work Load, employee placement, and employee engagement.
The objective of the research is to analyze the influence of workload, employee
placement, and employee engagement on employee job satisfaction at the Customs and
Excise Supervision and Service Office, Madya Pabean Type B, Medan. The research uses descriptive
quantitative method by involving 79 employees in this office. The data are analyzed by using
multiple linear regression analysis. The result of the research shows that workload has a
negative and significant influence on employee job satisfaction, employee placement has
a positive and significant influence on employee job satisfaction, employee engagement
has a positive and significant influence on employee job satisfaction. Simultaneously,
workload, employee placement, and employee engagement have a positive and significant influence
on employee job satisfaction at the Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office,
Madya Pabean Type B, Medan . The implication of this research is expected to be able to help
the management of this office optimize its employee job satisfaction through strategic
design and policy concerning workload, employee placement, and employee engagement, and the
employees are expected to be able to contribute optimally with their best version for the
