dc.description.abstractThis study was conducted to determine the background of housewives infected with HIV/AIDS, a description of the downturn experienced by housewives and the sources of resilience in housewives infected with HIV/AIDS. This study used phenomenological qualitative research methods. Participants in this study used 3 people with predetermined criteria, namely housewives infected with HIV/AIDS. The location of this research was in Medan City. The data collection used semi-structured interviews. The results of this study indicate that the three participants have good resilience skills characterized by the ability to bounce back from adversity by firing the sources of resilience owned such as the sources of I Have, I Am and I Can. The I Have source is obtained from external support that comes from family and the surrounding environment. The I Am source is obtained from self-confidence, optimism and confidence possessed by the three participants. The I Can source is obtained from the ability to cope with daily pressures, and openness in reaching out for helpen_US
