This research examines the assimilation of sounds in Surah As-Sajdah. The research aims to determine which consonants are being assimilated and to determine the type of assimilation that occurs in the consonants in the verses of Surah As-Sajdah. This research is qualitative research and the type of this research is library research. The data collection method used is the method of observing and using note-taking techniques, while the method used to analyze the data is the matching method with the technique of selecting determining elements (PUP). This research uses the assimilation theory proposed by Muskar. The results of this study showed that in Surah As-Sajdah found 21 consonants that undergo the process of assimilation, namely consonants: , ب, ت, ث, ج, د, ذ, ر, ز, س ش, ص, ط, ظ, ف, ق, ك, ل, م, ن, و, ي [b, t, θ, ʝ, d, ð, r, z, s, ʃ, ȿ, ʈ, ʑ, f, q, k, l, m, n, w, j] and can be classified as progressive homorgan assimilation, and regressive total assimilation. The consonant sounds that belong to the assimilation of progressive homorgans are assimilations that occur between the nasal consonants ن [n] and the inhibitory consonants ت [t], د [d], ط [ʈ], ق [q], and ك [k], between the nasal consonants ن [n] and the fricative consonants ذ [ð], ز [z], س [s], ظ [ʑ], and ف [f], between bilabial nasal consonants م [m] with the inhibitory consonant ب [b], between the specific nasal sound ن [n] in the tanwin vowel - [an] and the inhibitory consonant ب [b], ت [t] , and ك [k], between the specific nasal sound ن [n] in the tanwin vowel - [in] with the inhibitory consonant ك [k], and between the specific nasal sound ن [n] in the tanwin vowel - [in] with the fricative consonants ث [θ], and ج [ʝ]. While the consonant sound that belongs to progressive total assimilation is the assimilation that occurs between the nasal consonant ن [n] with the lateral consonant ل [l], with the vibrating consonant ر [r], with the nasal consonant م [m], with semi-vowel consonants و [w], and ي [j], between lateral consonants ل [l] in pair words al ال [al] and fricative consonants س [s], ش [ʃ], and ص [ʂ], between the lateral consonant ل [l] in the pair word ال [al] with the vibrating consonant ر [r], and with the nasal consonant ن [n], between the specific nasal sound ن [n] in the tanwin vowel - [an] - [in] - [un] with nasal consonant م [m], and between the specific nasal sound ن [n] in the tanwin vowel - [an] with the semivowel consonants و [w], and ي [j]. The conclusion of this study is assimilation not only facilitates the pronunciation of sounds, but also enriches linguistic rules in Arabic and beautifies the Arabic language itself and all these things can be found in Surah As-Sajdah.en_US
