People with HIV/AIDS (ODHA) are among the social welfare service
providers (PPKS). ODHA often get stigma and discrimination from their
surroundings. This situation makes ODHA unable to accept their own condition.
This causes ODHA to be unable to function socially. To make ODHA return to
functioning socially, ODHA must be able to accept their condition, rise from their
pain and be able to adapt to their condition, this condition is called resilience.
One of the things that affects the level of resilience of ODHA is the social support
that ODHA gets from the surrounding environment. This study aims to see the
level of the relationship between social support and the resilience of ODHA in
Medan Plus. This study uses primary data, namely data obtained from ODHA
through observation and distribution of questionnaires. The sampling technique
used was Proportional Multistage Random Sampling, after the calculations were
obtained the number of samples was 98 people, thus in this study there were 98
respondents who became the sample. The indicators used in variable X (Social
Support) are comfort, attention, appreciation, and assistance. While the
indicators for the variable Y (Resilience) are adaptability and resilience. From
the results of the correlation test, social support contributed 67.7% to the
resilience of ODHA in Medan Plus. So it can be concluded that social support has
a big role for the resilience of ODHA.
