This thesis describes the role of Greenpeace in addressing the problem of Amazon
Deforestation in Brazil. The Amazon forest is a forest that absorbs the largest amount
of carbon dioxide in the world. The Amazon forest also has the highest biodiversity
on earth. But the Amazon forest has a problem, namely deforestation which often
occurs and has increased in recent years. The purpose of this research is to explain the
efforts made by Greenpeace in dealing with the problem of deforestation of the
Amazon Forest in Brazil. In this study researchers used theoryInternational Non
Govermental Organisation (INGO). The analysis in this study used a qualitative
descriptive method with library research data collection techniques (literature study).
The results of this study show the efforts made by Greenpeace in dealing with
deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon. Greenpeace is making efforts to overcome the
problem of deforestation in the Amazon forest, namely by conducting campaigns and
advocacy efforts. The efforts made by Greenpeace also involve other parties, namely
the Brazilian government, indigenous peoples of Brazil, as well as local and
international organizations that participate in dealing with deforestation problems that
occur in the Amazon forest.
