This study aims to determine the difference in the level of nationalism among high school students of X School who reside in the dormitory (semi-military culture) and those who do not reside in the dormitory (non-semi-military culture) using a comparative quantitative methodology. The subjects of this study consisted of 424 students, with 181 students residing in the dormitory and 243 students not residing in the dormitory but attending X School. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. Data collection was conducted using the likert scale, specifically the Indonesian Mental Revolution scale (S-RMI). Data analysis to compare the two groups was performed using the Mann-Whitney U test. The research results indicate that there is no difference in the level of nationalism among high school students of X School who reside in the dormitory (semi-military culture) and those who do not reside in the dormitory (non-semi-military culture). The average nationalism scores fall within the nationalist category, with a score of 74.92 for students residing in the dormitory and 76.80 for students not residing in the dormitory. Additional research findings include a comparative analysis of each aspect of nationalism among high school students of X School. Nationalism consists of five aspects, namely love for the country, respect for cultural differences, obedience to the law, cultural appreciation, and excellence and achievement. The comparative analysis shows differences in the aspects of respecting cultural differences and cultural appreciation. Students who do not reside in the dormitory tend to have higher scores compared to students who reside in the dormitory. This tendency is caused by the ineffectiveness of the program at SMA X and Dormitory Y for students living in dormitories. Even though they do not receive semi-military education, students who do not live in dormitories still get character nationalism education at home through parentingen_US
