Introduction: Endometrial cancer is the most common form of gynecological oncology in developed countries. The pattern of immunohistochemistry enables the identification of tissue origin to be more accurate than the examination of hematoxyline-eosine alone. There are several immunohistochemical tests to distinguish endometrial adenocarcinomas from endoserviks, namely vimentin.
Aim: This study looked at the role of vimentin in distinguishing the primary location between the cervix and endometrium.
Methods: This study is a comparative study with the design of the research is an analytical observation with cross sectional (cross sectional) which uses primary data to evaluate the role of vimentin in distinguishing endometrial adenocarcinoma and cervical adenocarccinome and patient sample selection The sample of the study is the paraffin block type adenokarcinoma of patients who are diagnosed with cervical cancer and endometrium cancer in RSUP Haji Adam Malik and therapy at RSUP Haj Haj Adam malik in November 2022-March 2023
Results: Vimentin has a sensitivity of 91.6% while specificity is achieved at 100.0%. From the sensitivity results found in this study, vimentin has a capacity of 91.6% in determining positive outcomes and has a specificity of 100% which means the vimentine test has the ability of 100.0% in defining negative results. The positive guess value of this study was 100% and the negative guess value was 92.3%.
Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the vimentin test had a 100% ability in determining the histopathological outcome of endometrial adenocarcinoma and 92.3% gave a negative outcome on the non-adenocarcinom histopatology outcome.
