dc.description.abstractNosocomial pneumonia is an infection of the lungs that occurs after being treated in a hospital. Pneumonia is generally caused by Escherichia coli which causes acute inflammation and respiratory distress. The interaction of bacteria that enter the body activates inflammatory factors in the form of cytokines. This study aims to determine the anti-inflammatory effect of extracts of Snakehead Fish (Channa striata) in rat models of pneumonia induced by LPS E. Coli intratracheally. This research was a quasi-experimental study using Wistar strain male rats aged 10-12 weeks and weighing 200-250 grams. Mice were divided into 6 groups, the standard group was not induced by LPS, only given standard feed and NaCl, the negative control group was induced by LPS E. Coli 2 mg/kgBW intratracheal and 0.5% CMC, the positive control group was induced by LPS E. Coli 2 mg/kgBW intratracheal and Dexamethasone 5mg/KgBW, group P1 was induced by LPS E. Coli 2 mg/kgBW intratracheal and snakehead fish extract 150 mg/kgBW, group P2 was induced by LPS E. Coli 2 mg/kgBW intratracheal and snakehead fish extract 300 mg/kgBW kgBB and P3 group induced by LPS E. Coli 2 mg/kgBW intratracheal and snakehead fish extract 600 mg/kgBW. The results of this study showed a significant difference in TNF-α levels between treatment groups (P>0.05). Histological assessment of the degree of lung tissue inflammation showed significantly different results (P<0.05) with the degree of inflammation in P2 being milder than P1 and P3.en_US
