Pola Komunikasi Paguyuban Persatuan Keluarga Ulakan Tapakis Ketaping dalam Melestarikan Budaya Minangkabau di Medan

Abstract

This research is entitled "Communication Patterns of the Persatuan Keluarga Ulakan Tapakis Ketaping (Ulakan Tapakis Ketaping Family Association) in Preserving Minangkabau Culture in Medan" The purpose of this study was to find out the patterns and communication barriers of the Ulakan Tapakis Ketaping Family Association (PKUTK) in preserving Minangkabau culture in Medan. The theory used is communication, effective communication, intercultural communication, Minangkabau traditional culture and organizational communication. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method. The informants for this study consisted of 6 (six) informants, namely 4 (four) main informants and 2 (two) triangulation informants to strengthen the data obtained. The results of this study indicate that the communication pattern of the Ulakan Tapakis Ketaping Family Association (PKUTK) uses an all channel communication pattern or a star pattern, with communication barriers in the form of mechanical disturbances in the form of busyness which causes information and communication to be conveyed for a long time and semantic disturbances, namely misunderstandings between fellow members when communicating using new media whatsapp grub.
