Adaptation is the ability to change oneself according to environmental conditions, but
also to change the environment according to one's circumstances. This is what has been
experienced by fresh graduates at USU's FISIP who have had to adjust themselves
during the pandemic. This study examines the Social Adaptation of Freshgraduates
from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of North Sumatra,
Accessing Job Opportunities During the Pandemic Period. The main purpose of this
research is to find out the pattern of social adaptation of fresh graduates during the
pandemic in accessing the world of work at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences,
University of North Sumatra. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative
approach by conducting interviews and analyzing adaptation during the pandemic to
12 USU FISIP fresh graduates as informants. This research uses AGIL theory from
Talcott Parson. In this study, Social Adaptation during the pandemic period in
accessing the world of work was carried out in various ways, such as deepening skills,
expanding social networks, registering with various companies to working as a
freelancer and opening a business. The obstacles experienced by fresh graduates
during the pandemic in finding work are the difficulty of getting jobs that match the
majors they are taking, hindered by diplomas that have not been issued, to tight
competition in the world of work and lack of work experience
