This research is a study of the application of social capital with a profit-sharing system in the mamahani pig farmer community in Gang Maju 8 Kwala Bekala, Medan Johor. Mamahani is a profit-sharing system in pig farming with initial capital provided by others. Pig farming is one of the side businesses as a source of additional economic income by residents of Gang Maju 8, Kwala bekala Village, Medan Johor. They have been raising pigs on their own since the 1990s, but the pig farming business with a profit-sharing system began to develop since the 2000s. This research uses a qualitative approach method. This research continued the Field Work Practice (PKL) course for one month in November and continued research for three months, starting from the second half of January 2023 to the first half of April 2023. Data were collected through direct observation of local community activities related to pig rearing and interviews with financiers, livestock keepers and local communities. Documentation also included interview recordings, photos, videos and literature studies. The results of this study show that pig farming with a profit-sharing system always involves several actors, including farmers, investors, intermediaries between investors and farmers, and people who buy livestock (toke). The relationship established in this pig business is carried out by business actors on the basis of mutual trust and honesty. The social capital construction mechanism that utilizes social networks in mamahani pig farming cooperation utilizes family relationships (genelogical and sociological), neighboring relationships (band), and both parties are introduced by intermediaries. Furthermore, the implementation of profit sharing from the mamahani pig farming business is carried out with a percentage of 50%: 50% and 60%: 40% by providing initial capital in the form of piglets and cash. In the mamahani pig farming business with a profit-sharing system, the investors and livestock keepers are always based on trust and honesty. This is a manifestation of the social moorings that have long been formed among livestock business actors. Further research is expected to find new things or enrich previous research related to social capital in livestock business.en_US
