Objective
This study aims to determine the comparison of clinical function outcomes of patients undergoing
Cemented and Uncemented Bipolar Hemiarthroplasty Surgery on Femoral Neck Fractures Using
Modified Harris Hip Score and the Proportion of Dislocations after Pelvic Joint Replacement Surgery
in Medan.
Material and Methods
This is an observational analytical research study with a case control design at H. Adam Malik Hospital
Medan and several network hospitals in Medan. A total of 32 patients were diagnosed with femoral
neck fracture where 16 patients underwent cemented bipolar hemiarthroplasty surgery and 16 patients
underwent uncemented bipolar hemiarthroplasty surgery during the period September 2021 to August
2022 in MHHS scores and the proportion of dislocations 1 month postoperatively.
Results
The research subjects included 12 men and 20 women aged 54-91 years. Bipolar hemiarthroplasty
cemented 16 patients and uncemented bipolar hemiarthroplasty 16 patients. With a mean MHHS value
for cemented bipolar hemiarthroplasty 79.00±5.40 and uncemented bipolar hemiarthroplasty
78.81±7.43.
Conclusion
From the results of statistical analysis tests on the comparison of clinical function outcomes of modified
Harris hip score from cemented bipolar hemiarthroplasty with uncemented bipolar hemiarthroplasty in
femoral neck fractures, there was no significant difference from the MHHS value 1 month after surgery,
this was indicated by the p value = 0.935 (> 0.05).
