dc.description.abstract | This thesis is a case study entitled "Upaya Pelestarian Permainan Tradisional
Melalui Wadah Sanggar Seni di Desa Pearung Kecamatan Paranginan Kabupaten
Humbang Hasundutan”. This thesis aims to see how efforts to preserve traditional
games were carried out by the Pearung art studio and other parties in Pearung
village. Where traditional games are cultural heritage that are passed down from
generation to generation. The author has also seen the development of traditional
games among children and the community and the effectiveness of art galleries in
developing traditional games in Pearung Village. This study uses qualitative
methods using observation techniques, in-depth interviews and documentation. The
research findings show that efforts to preserve traditional games carried out by the
Pearung art studio are by making traditional games one of the activities in the studio
with the intention that these games will continue to exist which children can later
apply in their daily lives. Efforts from other parties, namely the village government
and one of the educational institutions in the village are to hold traditional sports
competitions on national holidays such as Independence Day, Teacher's Day, and
other holidays. The difference between the traditional games at the Pearung art
studio and the others is that there are game modifications combined with traditional
music. Traditional games as part of the arts are studied in art anthropology. Art
arises and is the most important part of human life experience in seeking, enjoying
and admiring beauty. Because of the importance of the value of beauty, humans
will try to do various things to achieve that beauty which is reflected in the
modification of traditional games accompanied by music when played. These
modifications provide inner satisfaction for humans so that they reach the point of
