This study aims to produce cellulose nanofibers with appropriate size for material technology applications synthesized from sugar palm fibers. Ultrasonication using an ultrasonic homogenizer is used to produce cellulose nanofibers with a size smaller than 100 nm. These cellulose nanofibers have a larger surface area, improving efficiency in material applications and as absorbent material. Furthermore, nano cellulose aerogel/PVA with high porosity is produced through processing and morphology and microstructure analysis is conducted. The results show that the NS/PVA aerogel has good adsorption capacity towards vegetable oil.en_US
