Composites based on polyester matrix and palm oil fly ash fillers have been successfully prepared using simple techniques. Palm fiber reinforcement is used to determine the level of its influence on physical properties (porosity, density and water absorption), mechanical properties (hardness, impact test, wear test and coefficient of friction test) as well as the level of wear and friction coefficient. In addition, the most optimal and lowest sample morphology from the above test values was also carried out to determine its morphological characteristics. Composite with 0% palm fiber (PFS-0) has the highest density value, and has the lowest water absorption capacity compared to other samples. However, in terms of mechanical properties, PFS-20 with 20% mass of palm fiber has superior values, including: hardness of 33.10 HV, while PFS-0 is only 19,73 HV. Then, PFS-20 has the highest impact force compared to other samples and is accompanied by the most optimal tensile strength of 4,33 GPa. The wear and friction coefficient respectively on PFS-20 are also the lowest and the most optimal because they are supported by the rough surface morphology, compactness and distribution of solid particles.
