D. Harapan Bunda is a cassava chips processing business in Mandailing Natal. The problem faced by MSMEs is that a lot of dough is wasted. Workers at the refining and printing stations also often suffer from musculoskeletal disorders or MSDs. This study aims to calculate the percentage of complaints, analyze and classify physiological workload, and improve the design of smoothing and printing tools in order to reduce MSDs complaints to workers and wasted dough. Analysis of physiological workload and worker complaints was carried out by calculating pulse rate, energy consumption, %CVL and distributing the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire. Body posture assessment was carried out using a Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) using Ergofellow 2.0 Software. Based on the results of the study, the average maximum pulse value for workers was 180.17. The average value of energy consumption is 2.81 Kcal/minute with an average %CVL of 36.16. The results of the NBM questionnaire obtained MSDs complaints on the body by 83% with complaints on the back. The REBA score results for smoothing and printing operators are 8 and 11 which means that the operator's work has a high risk of muscle injury and changes are needed. The proposed improvements are the design of a smoothing and molding tool which is equipped with a funnel-shaped container that makes it easier for workers to put the dough in. The bottom is designed to be tilted forward to prevent the dough from wasting. The tool is also designed automatically and ergonomically. The printing machine added a table to make it easier for operators to take printouts. The calculation of the final REBA score after design improvements is 4 and 5, which means that the operator's work has a moderate risk of muscle injury and may need improvementen_US
