dc.description.abstractStudent engagement is an important component within students. Student engagement affect how students behave and how they face academic challenges, which is will affect learning outcomes and student achievement.This study aims to find the role of peer attachment towards student engagement of junior high school students.This Study involved 200 students as the subjects taken by incidental sampling method. The research method is quantitative research method with likert scale as measuring isntruments. Likert scale represent in this study is scale of student engagement, which is the scale of previous researcher which was construct based on student engagement and peer attachment scale which was construct based on peer attachment theory. The data analysisused the simple regression that show the result (0,000) < 0,05 that indicates the role of peer attachment on student engagement of junior high school students. Peer attachment contributed 34,4% to improve student engagement among junior high school students. Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the higher peer attachment, the higher the student engagement.en_US
