Penentuan Kadar Asam Lemak Bebas secara Titrimetri dan Kadar Air secara Gravimetri pada CPO di PT. PP London Sumatera
Abstract
Research has been conducted to analyze the content of free fatty acids and water content in Crude Palm Oil (CPO) at PT. PP London Sumatra. In the analysis of free fatty acid levels in a titrimetric manner, it begins with weighing the sample and heating. Then, it is dissolved with isopropyl and added a PP indicator of 1%. Then, it was titrated with KOH 0.25N to a yellowish orange color and recorded the results. In gravimetric analysis of moisture content, it begins with weighing the dry cup and the sample, then the sample is put into the dry dish and weighed. Then, drying, cooling and weighing of the samples and saucers are carried out. From the measurement results, calculations were then carried out on the sample for the first day to the third day, so that results were obtained for the analysis of free fatty acid levels, namely 0,28% for the first day, 0,26% for the second day, and 0,23% for the third day. For the analysis, the water content is 0,06% for the first day, 0,04% for the second day, and 0,01% for the third day. In accordance with SNI 01-2901-2006 concerning Crude Palm Oil, the quality standard value of crude palm oil (CPO) for free fatty acid content and water content < 0,5%. Based on the data that has been obtained, it can be concluded that the CPO has met the quality standard requirements for free fatty acid content and water content.
