Perbaikan Dampak Lingkungan dengan Pendekatan Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) pada PT. Bakrie Sumatera Plantations, Tbk
Abstract
PT. BSP (Bakrie Sumatera Plantations, Tbk) is a company engaged in the plantation and processing of SIR (Standard Indonesian Rubber) 10 type crumb rubber and produces 3.12 million tons of rubber a year. The LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) method reinforced with ISO 14040 is used to analyze the environmental impacts that arise during the processing of crumb rubber and provides information about factor analysis of pollution and emissions produced during the processing of crumb rubber. Limitation of LCA in this study is cradle to gate which is a limitation research that starts from the processing of raw materials to the process of forming crumb rubber SIR 10. To identify the environmental impacts that arise as a result of the processing, the LCA method is refined with the help of SIMAPRO software with Eco Indicator method 99. The results of this study indicate that in every production of 1 ton of crumb rubber there are 5 categories of environmental impacts that arise, including Respiratory Inorganic of 3.25E7 Pt, Ecotoxicity of 0.235 Pt, Fossil Fuels of 0. .0933 Pt, Carcinogens of 4.32E10 Pt, and Acidification Potential of 0.00889 Pt. Respiratory Inorganic, Ecotoxicity, Carcinogens, and Acidification Potential occurs in the drying process due to air emissions of several chemical compounds, while Fossil Fuels occurs due to emissions from surface water and Recycling water from process washing, separation water And process of crumbling. The improvement effort that must be done is to make emission filters at the Cenex plant station, especially in the drying process in order to minimize air emissions arising from the process.
