Optimal management of drug supplies provides savings in drug procurement
costs. Drug planning at the UPT Pharmaceutical Installation of the XYZ Regency
Health Office is still not optimal, because there are still shortages and excesses of
drugs caused by ordering data that is difficult to obtain with certainty because it
often changes depending on the conditions that occur, thus affecting the method of
planning drug needs at the Pharmaceutical Installation. The purpose of this study
was to control drug inventory at the UPT Pharmaceutical Installation of the XYZ
Regency Health Office. The processing of drug inventory control begins with
grouping drugs based on their use using the K-means algorithm which produces 3
clusters. After that, a combination of grouping is carried out using the VEN
method (Vital, Essential, and Non-Essential) which results in 9 combinations,
with a total of 19 types of vital drugs, 156 types of essential drugs, and 46 types of
non-essential drugs. Then demand forecasting is carried out from 2 combinations
using ARIMA (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average) and inventory control
is carried out using the Fuzzy Inventory method. The results showed that
inventory costs in the last 2 periods have decreased after the implementation of
fuzzy inventory control.
