The growth of the population increases the industrial activities every year. Those activities demand the industry to use sophisticated machinery. However, the noise that produced by these machines causes hearing loss either directly or indirectly. The purpose of this study was to calculate the noise level of tapioca industry activities in Pintubosi village, Laguboti District using a Sound Level Meter tool, comparing measurement results with noise level quality standards (KepMenLH No. 48 of 1996 and Permenaker No. 5 of 2018), analyzing the relationship between noise levels with the distance of residents living around the industry using SPSS, and determining efforts to reduce noise levels in the Pintubosi Tapioca Industry. The measurement method refers to KepMenLH No.48 of 1996 and SNI 8427 of 2017. Noise level measurements were carried out 24 hours on 2 weekdays and a weekend at 13 measurement points. Based on the calculation results, it is known that the noise level of day and night (LDN) weekend, in residential some point has passed the quality standard and industrial areas, didn’t exceed the quality standard (noise range 49.06 – 57.61 dBA). Meanwhile, the noise level day and night (LDN) on weekdays, both in industrial and residential areas, has passed the quality standard (noise range 56.07 – 85.38 dBA). Recommended altenative to controls the noise such as isolating noise sources, technical control (engineering control), the use of ear protection equipment, and the ideal distance between residental and industry.
