Dukungan Keluarga terhadap Kepatuhan Minum Obat pada Penderita Tuberculosis dengan Multidrug Resistant (TB-MDR) di RSUD Cut Meutia Aceh Utara

Abstract

Multidrug resistant tuberculosis is the main problem of the world in preventing and eradicating TB. The objective of this research is to reveal the correlation between family support and multidrug resistant tuberculosis patients’ drug compliance. This is a descriptive correlational research using cross sectional design. It employs total sampling technique and applies inclusion criteria requiring the sample to be multidrug resistant tuberculosis patients who have been undergoing their treatment for 2 months. Asample size of 40 people are taken from April until Mei 2023. This research is done in the Multidrug resistant tuberculosis polyclinic at Cut Meutia Regional General Hospital, Aceh Utara Regency. Demographic data are analyzed univariately to discover the frequency distribution of respondents’ characteristics. Bivariate analysis is made by conducting chi-square test to find the correlation among family support and nurses’ roles with drug compliance. Based on the hypothesis testing using chi-square at confidence interval of 95%, it it figured that family support is significantly correlated with drug compliance (p=0.00). This research concludes that family support is correlated with multidrug resistant tuberculosis patients’ drug compliance. It is also concluded that the improvement of multidrug resistant tuberculosis patients’ drug compliance requires family support.
