Hubungan Status Fungsional dengan Kualitas Hidup Pasien Pasca Stroke di Poli Rawat Jalan RSUP Haji Adam Malik Medan
Abstract
Functional status is one's physical ability condition to fulfill his daily needs. Life quality refers to the satisfaction with subjective health assessment mainly affected by the values and culture adhered by surrounding environment. The objective of this research is to analyze the correlation between functional status and life quality of the poststroke patients in Outpatient Polyclinic at Haji Adam Malik Hospital, Medan. This research employs quantitative approach, takes 420 patients as its population, and uses a sample size of 81 respondents selected by applying convenience sampling technique Barthel's index and sf-36 (short form-36 are employed as the instrument to measure functional status and life quality respectively. Data analysis is made by using Spearman rho test. The research findings demonstrate that the poststroke patients" functional status indicates that 75 respondents (92.6%) show moderate dependency. It is also found that the poststroke patients' life quality indicates that 78 respondents (96.3%) have high quality of life. The Spearman test results show significance coefficient with p-value of 0.53 and correlational coefficient (r) of 0.07, proving that there is not any correlation between functional status and life quality.
