Background: Shofar is one of the wind instruments made of ram horns that exist in the territory of Israel and was previously used by the Israelites as a symbol when war would occur, besides that the shofar was also used in special celebrations for the Israelites such as Yom Kippur and Yosh Hashanah. and events in the worship of the Israelites. As time goes by, this wind instrument has now entered Indonesia and is used by charismatic churches, especially the GBI Sumatra Resort church in Medan, North Sumatra. Due to the lack of studies on the shofar, the authors are interested in raising this matter to be used as research which of course has a formulation of the problem regarding the form, structure, acculturation of how the Shofar entered the GBI Sumatra Resort Church and what the function and meaning of music is using the shofar. In this case the author also conducts qualitative research methods in exploring the function and meaning of the shofar due to building a view of the things that are being examined in detail. The author also conducts data analysis in conducting this research which is intended to be able to find data obtained from participants, interviews, observations and documentation. Materials and Methods: The research was carried out by going directly to the field and observing the process of worship, the structure and form of music as well as the meaning and function of the Shofar, as well as conducting interviews with relevant informants Research Result: There have been many changes but still not forgetting the old elements of the Shofar, many changes have occured in the form of music, where chords and musical arrangements are very moder, for Shofar itself it is more solemn in worship, his boisterous voice can touch the hearts of the congregation to be more and more free in praising God.en_US
