Pembuatan Etilen Diklorida dari Etilen dan Klorin dengan Metode Direct Chlorination dengan Kapasitas 20.000 Ton/Tahun (Tugas Khusus Rancangan Keteknikan Detail Absorber)
Abstract
Preliminary plant design production of ethylene dichloride from ethylene and chlorine with direct chlorination method has a production capacity 20.000 tons/year and operates for 330 days a year. The amount of ethylene and chlorine required to achieve annual product capacity is 811,456 kg/hour and 2.051,060 kg/hour.
The specific task that was completed is the detailed engineering design of a absorber for ethylene dichloride. The type of absorber that is used are Packed Tower with 13 inch diameter, 31,25 ft in length, and wall thickness of 0,013 inches.
The Preliminary plant design production of ethylene dichloride from ethylene and chlorine with direct chlorination method is planned to be built in Cilegon City, Banten Province, with a total factory area of 11,710 m2. The water demand for this factory is supplied from the Kali Berung River as much as 23,168 kg/hour. The planned company organizational form is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational structure, and a total of 150 employees.
The results of the economic analysis on this factory design are as follows:

2. Total Cost (TC) = Rp 503.269.630.354
3. Profit Margin (PM) = 47,195%
4. Break Even Point (BEP) = 37,881%
5. Return on Investment (ROI) = 31,234%
6. Return On Network (RON) = 52,056%
7. Pay Out Time (POT) = 3 year 2 month
8. Internal Rate of Return (IRR) = 18,799%
Based on the results of the economic analysis, it can be concluded that the plant for the manufacture of ethylene dichloride from ethylene and chlorine by direct chlorination process is feasible to establish
