Perbaikan Tata Letak Fasilitas di PT. Bridgestone Sumatera Rubber Estate dengan Software UA FLP dan Software Flap
Abstract
Layout is the main cornerstone in the industrial world. Plant layout or facilities layout can be interpreted as a procedure for setting up factory facilities that have the aim of making the production process smoother. The arrangement will utilize the area (space) for the placement of machines or other supporting facilities, product storage (storage), both temporary and permanent, workers and so on. In general, PT. Bridgestone Sumatra Rubber Estate has a fairly high production cost, one of the causes is the cost of handling materials that are quite large due to poor material flow. At PT. Bridgestone Sumatra Rubber Estate found cross movement between the flow from the entrance to the weight bridge department and the flow from the production department to the warehouse department. This can cause disturbances in the flow of materials and material handling. Furthermore, the magnitude of the distance from the raw materials Department to the precleaning Department with a distance of 150 meters. This will cause the cost of moving materials to be large. The purpose of this study is to provide proposals regarding the rearrangement of production at PT. Bridgestone Sumatra Rubber Estate uses assistance from Facility Layout Program (FLAP) software and Unequal Area Facility Layout Problem (UA-FLP) software. The results of this study show that the total material transfer distance is smaller using FLAP software, which is 277 meters and the material handling costs issued are lower, namely Rp. 10,114,385. In the selected proposed layout, no crossmovement activities were found and the total distance each station had became smaller.
