    Abstract
Gout is a non-communicable disease, in which monosodium urate crystals accumulate in the body, indicating blood uric acid levels above normal. The xanthine oxidase enzyme is an enzyme that plays a role in purine metabolism, namely in the conversion of hypoxanthine to uric acid. Inhibition of xanthine oxidase will prevent the formation of uric acid. Kedondong leaves (Spondias dulcis) is a plant that has a secondary metabolite, namely the flavonoid quercetin. Types of flavonoids such as quercetin and kaempferol can inhibit the performance of xanthine oxidase so that they can inhibit uric acid synthesis. This study aims to analyze the effect of kedondong leaf extract (Spondias dulcis) on decreasing uric acid levels, decreasing levels of creatinine, urea, increasing urine volume and increasing body weight in hyperuricemia rats induced with potassium oxonate. This study used 32 rats which were divided into 8 groups. The EEDK doses used in this study were 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 mg/KgBW, 10 mg allopurinol as a positive control and CMC Na as a negative control. In this study, the normal group was used. All hyperuric rats were given ethanol extract of kedondong leaves every day for 14 days. Uric acid levels were measured through urine, creatinine, urea, serum uric acid, urine volume, body weight and kidney histopathology on the 15th day. The results of statistical analysis showed that giving EEDK doses of 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 mg/KgBW can reduce uric acid levels, but the dose of 800mg/KgBW is the most significant in reducing uric acid levels and improving histopathological picture. rats induced by renal potassium oxonate.
