Future anxiety in students is a state of fear, uncertainty, and concern about future changes. Future anxiety leads to negative behaviors, thoughts, and emotions displayed by students, and if not addressed promptly, it can have a significant impact on their performance. Therefore, this study aims to see the effect of support group and self help group intervention to reduce future anxiety in college students. The study used a posttest control group design and used a random assignment method (N = 10) on undergraduate students (S1) of the Faculty of Psychology at University of North Sumatra. Data analysis using the Mann U Whitney statistical test showed a significance value of p = 0.046 (p < sig 0.05), indicating that there was a decrease in future anxiety among students due to the use of support group and self-help group interventions. The results also show that the effect of this intervention proved consistent for one week after the treatment. Based on the test results, there is a significant difference in reducing future anxiety through support group and self-help group participation.
