    Abstract
Introduction. This study aims to analyze the effect of glycemic parameters on the mortality of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) patients with COVID-19 at H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan Method. A descriptive analytic study with a cross-sectional design and total sampling technique were used by collecting data on medical colleagues of inpatients with T2DM who were confirmed to have COVID-19 at H. Adam Malik Hospital for the period March 2020 to December 2021 which was then carried out by distribution test using the Kolmogorov Smirnov test. Statistical analysis was carried out to assess the effect of glycemic parameters on the mortality of T2DM patients with COVID-19 using the Mann Whitney test. The results are statistically significant when p <0.05. Result. Of the 316 research participants, the most common sex was male (60%). A total of 158 people suffered from severe COVID-19 (50%) with an age range of 57 (26-90) and a length of stay of 9 days. Laboratory data results showed that there were significant differences in the values of inflammatory markers such as leukocytes, NLR, PCT, D-dimer, LDH and ferritin based on the severity of COVID- 19 (p <0.05). Fasting and 2 hours post-prandial blood sugar levels were found to be significantly different based on the degree of severity of COVID-19. There was no difference in glycemic parameters of T2 DM patients with COVID 19 infection who recovered and died. Conclusion. There is no significant associated between glycemic parameters and mortality in T2DM patients with COVID-19.
