Rancangan Alat Bantu untuk Mengurangi Beban Kerja pada Unit Filtrasi Pengolahan Air
Abstract
The PERUMDA Tirtanadi water treatment facility, Limau Manis branch,
is a water treatment installation that has been built since 2003. It consists of
several stages of water treatment, one of which is the filtration unit. The filter
tanks are cleaned, and the filter media is replaced with new ones every 7 to 8
months. The process of replacing the filter media (sand and gravel) involves
dismantling, transporting, and replacing the sand and gravel in the filter tanks.
The filter tanks have dimensions of 4.8 meters in length, 4.8 meters in width, and
5 meters in height. The process of replacing the filter media is done manually and
repeatedly. The filter media that is removed and transported consists of 23 tons of
sand and 10 tons of gravel. The manual process of replacing the filter media takes
2 to 3 months to complete. This study aims to design an assisting tool that can
reduce workload and improve the working method. The research process involves
all workers in the filtration tanks. The researcher distributed Nordic Body Map
questionnaires to the workers to determine the level of operator complaints. The
assessment of workers' working posture was conducted using the REBA method.
The pulse rate or %CVL was calculated before and after work using an Oximeter.
The results showed the existence of discomfort complaints and poor working
postures, indicating the need for improvement. Based on the analysis of the data,
an assisting tool was designed to reduce workload and improve the working
method. Workers can work practically and efficiently using the assisting tool
without having to manually carry heavy loads.
