| dc.description.abstract | Background : COVID-19 disease has been identified for more than 2 years, studies assessing post-infection lung function are still very limited. The aim of this study was to assess pulmonary function tests (PFT) in COVID-19 survivors to better describe the long-term effects of the COVID-19 virus.
Methods : This study was an analytic cross-sectional study, in which lung function was assessed by spirometry. Research participants are officers who work at Medan Adventist Hospital who are survivors of COVID-19 in 2020 – 2022.
Results : In this study most were female with a mean age of 32.6 ± 7.33 with the largest group being 19-30 years. The sample of this study has an average BMI plus or minus 51.6. The comorbidities found were heart and thyroid disorders with the most common symptoms of COVID-19 survivors being fatigue. The sample of this study had the most history of mild COVID-19. FEF25-75% mean yield 96.3 ± 20.22 with an incidence rate of 19.1 %. In bivariate tests, no significant association was found between independent variables in small airway obstruction in COVID-19 survivors.
Conclusion : Demographics, age, gender, comorbidities, history of oxygenation and degree of severity do not affect the incidence of small airway obstruction in COVID-19 survivors. | en_US |
